Welcome to apeAPP

Welcome to the apeAPP, a tool created by the Great Ape Survival Partnership (GRASP) to directly link  the general public to our closest cousins: chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans, and bonobos. Track your favorite species and see exclusive photos, videos and fact sheets. Get the lastest updates from the field, and find out what you can do to help.

Dr. Richard Leakey, GRASP Ambassador

“It’s important to engage the public as closely as possible in the battle to conserve great apes, and the apeAPP is a timely step forward. Now, private citizens can track field projects, follow specific apes, and support the work they find most compelling all with the push of a button. The apeAPP literally puts great ape conservation in their hands.”

Goal and Inspiration

GRASP is a unique alliance comprised of 95 partners, ranging from nations and conservation organizations to United Nations agencies and research institutions. GRASP developed the apeAPP to offer these partners a way to access the general public, and raise funds and awareness on behalf of great ape conservation.
